Atmospheric pollen trends during Dec 2007

  • Grass pollen reaches moderate levels during dry
    periods of December though high rainfall keeps
    daily pollne counts down during the month
  • 15th and 30th Dec are the peak allergenic days
    for grass pollen
  • Echium plantagineum (Paterson's Curse) is
    recognised in the pollen counts (appears first in
    early Oct).

  • climate data from Bureua of Meteorology
  • high dust days = days registering periods of particle counts > 20000grains/m3/hr
    (visible semi-opaque area on sample tape)
